Upholstery fabrics come in a wide variety of weights and structures governed for use by a Martindale rub test that measures the robust nature of the cloth. All of the fabrics listed on our site are Martindale 20,000 rubs or over and suitable for soft furnishings in your home. For furnishings of letting properties, commercial use or for covering sofas and chairs you may require fire retardant cloths or those with a more robust Martindale score.
